It’s ok to do nothing today if you feel like it. But when you do start, your tomorrow will be better.

There is this saying, Mañana Mañana, which means “I will do it tomorrow” or “a person who doesn’t get work done”. So it’s not seen as a positive thing. Especially in a time like this, you get often frowned upon when you put things off until another time. Everyone has to work hard, hustle and know what they want in life. But what if you don’t know what you want or what if your values are different?

For you, as a client, coaching is ‘simply’ moving forward in your life. A coach can help you by having a conversation with you and asking powerful questions. This way you’ll find possible solutions or some answers. So to you, coaching should feel like an open and deep conversation without judgment.

At Morgen coaching, we will start with exploring what you want in life (goals), what some of the issues are that you’re having, and do some exploring around your values. The following sessions will dive deeper into getting an understanding of who you are and how you can reach your full potential. Besides these insights, you’ll also be able to take action and thus reach your goals and live your life according to your values.

With coaching the focus is on reaching your full potential and creating a fulfilling life. You bring your whole self and then look at where you want to go. Coaching is future-oriented, who do you want to be, where do you want to go. Although there might be similarities or some overlap, coaching is not the same as therapy. With therapy, the focus is on healing from previous experiences or traumas that are limiting your day-to-day functioning. If at any time during coaching sessions, I feel like previous experiences or traumas keep surfacing and are limiting your ability to move forward, I will engage in a conversation about potentially working with a therapist.
However, this does not mean that coaching and therapy are mutually exclusive. You could work with a therapist and with a coach.

To determine if coaching would be the right thing for you, start with asking yourself questions about your life/career to see if you are where you want to be. If you feel like there is a gap between where you are and where you want to be or that you’re feeling stuck, coaching might be an option for you to explore. Also, it is important to start working with a coach that is the right fit for you. For getting the most out of your coaching sessions it is important that you trust, feel at ease, and feel confident with the coach you’re working with. All sessions will take place over the phone or through a Zoom or Skype call (either audio or video). This means that we don’t need to live in the same country or continent for us to be able to work together. I offer the sessions in English and Dutch, so you would need to speak either one of those languages.
